The topic I chose is "Are Tobacco Warning Labels Effective?" This topic helps students to consider the warning labels they see in tobacco products. How effective they are and how they can be improved. This helps expand your mental health by improving warning signs and learning something new.
In this activity students will compare the warning signs here in America to the ones in Canada. The Canadian government requires tobacco companies to place full-color pictures and warning labels on all cigarette packages. While here in America its just a warning label with no picture. The students will be asked of how they view this, and if warning labels would be more effective with picture or no picture. Tobacco has four main health risks. They are chronic bronchitis ( chronic coughing and excessive mucus secretion), emphy sema( disease that destroys the tiny air sacs in the lungs ), lung cancer(when the cilia in the bronchi is destroyed), and coronary heart disease and stroke (arteries become clogged.)This is an issue that is not constantly presented or considered. I would want for my classmates to be more aware of what tobacco does to you.
I plan on staying away from drugs users and exercising more during the summer. By doing more physical activities such as walking instead of going in the car. To improve my health during the summer.
